Dawn Michele spent most of her childhood in Los Angeles, California. Her mother enrolled her in a private school for 1st and 2nd grade and it was in this school that she first learned about meditation and yoga. Dawn and her mother spent a good deal of time attending the Self Realization Fellowship, started by Paramahansa Yogananda, and the Integral Yoga Institute, started by Sri Swami Satchidananda. They were later initiated to Satchidananda when Dawn was eight years old.

When Dawn was 11 years old, she went to live with some friends, Keith and Melody Green, who became her foster parents. Keith and Melody were fundamental / evangelical Christians and Dawn, being as spiritual as she was, decided to follow this path as best she could. She attended week long seminars along with many hours of Bible study where she studied the Christian faith. She did not take this road lightly but instead put her heart and soul into following the Christian path.

Dawn stopped meditating while she was a Christian because she was told that it would make her vulnerable to evil spirits. After Dawn left home and was well into her twenties, she decided to let go of Christianity and start looking for a new spiritual path. She began to meditate again and an amazing thing started to happen. She began to see the world and herself in a new light, one that empowered her and allowed her to live life without fear or guilt. There was much to learn about this new way of being so she began to study books about various spiritual paths. It was not long until she made a wonderful discovery that all the world's major religions, including Christianity, teach the same important principle...LOVE. Love yourself, love the earth, love others, and love God. When a person practices this simple principle, nothing else is needed.

Over the past few years Dawn has gone through some very difficult lessons. These lessons have taught her a great deal about who she is and how to tap into her own innate power. Dawn has created the website, Aurora Dawn, to share her insights with those who are seeking answers. Dawn is a Certified Spiritual Life Coach, Usui and Karuna Reiki Master / Teacher and teaches Reiki, yoga, and witchcraft classes in the Cedar Rapids area. Dawn does all of her Coaching sessions over the phone and offers them nationwide.
